Krakow or Bust!

Day 1: The flight! Or should I say, my worst nightmare realized. No...could have been much worse, she slept for almost 1/2 of it...the 1/2 she wasn't sleeping she was screaming and whining A LOT. I was going crazy. Poor thing, I know she wasn't feeling well and then to be stuck on a plane for 10 hours! I've never been so glad to get off of a plane. Speaking of getting off of the plane, we landed and the rest of the fam exited and we waited till we were the last people to get off b/c of all the stuff we had (a massive car seat, a rolling luggage, a diaper bag, a duffle bag, a Lena, and her blankie--needless to say we had to ask a stewardess for help). Well...there was no "jetway" so we had to walk out the plane door, down the stairs to the ground where we stood in the pouring rain huddling under a wing for the bus to pick us up. We finally get picked up and they drove us about 80 feet to the door of the airport...no kidding, we could have walked there 20 times while we waited! We laughed hard.

Here are our living quarters!  We have two apartments in this building, this photo is right outside the apartment we are staying in.  Past the glass here is a beautiful courtyard below--photos of this to come!

We got to our apartment, which is fantastic and settled in and slept for a few hours. The jet lag was rough on everyone. We ate at this crazy old restaurant in town in a small private like room that had a ‘dungeon’ next to it which we explored...it just kept going and going into all these dark rooms like I would picture an old castle would have. The food was very polish (difficult for me to find what to order!) but good...except for the hunk of lard I thought was mashed potatoes that I put in my mouth...YUCK! I won’t make that mistake again!

This is an old kitchen we discovered as we toured through the dungeon! Crazy!
