After such a heavy day yesterday, today’s free day in Krakow was welcome. Today was the first day Dave felt good enough to wander around and enjoy the town. So after breakfast we all split up and Dave, I, and Lena went shopping in the market square for souvenirs. Then we finally tried out the “Kebabs” from one the many kebab joints where the big metal skewer has 30 lbs of chicken or lamb stacked up cooking in the window. We also enjoyed a beer and a glass of wine outside at a table of a cafe in the square—so beautiful and European! Loved it!

After Lena’s nap she went off with Babcia and Dziadzio so Dave and I could enjoy a date night. We ate at an Italian restaurant, took a horse drawn carriage ride around the city, and had some dessert at the “chocolate lady” dessertery I and the girls had discovered a few days before. After checking in with Lena we went out again for drinks and dancing at two of the Euro techno dance clubs we’d found. Crazy! Just fun to say we did it It was great to have a date night—and in Europe!!
