Lena and I are enjoying a day at the San Diego Zoo on Friday, and we happen to catch the Dr. Doolittle show. As we are watching, Dr. Doolittle asks for a bunch of kid volunteers to come forward who are brave enough to eat a bug. He proceeds to pass out "Bacon Cheddar Flavored" dried crickets and meal worms. Lena, thinking "This guys passing out snacks!" jumps off my lap and runs to the front! She waits patiently (though not in line as you can see) for the good doctor to give her the 'snack'! She is saying "Peas" the whole time. Dr. Doolittle hands her a meal worm and she runs back to me...
"Look mom!" Then as I'm taking a picture of it she throws it in her mouth. ICK!
The other kids were all still holding their bugs waiting for instructions. I'm thinking...there's no way he's going to make those kids eat the bugs...she's probably not supposed to! So I dug as much as I could out of her mouth, about half. The rest of the kids did eat their bugs...so I suppose she'll be fine :) Still...made for a funny story and everyone there thought she was adorable :)
