Captain Stricker is Dave's "On-Wing" (primary instructor), he's great!
Dave and Captain Stricker at Dave's "Tie Cutting"--a ceremony after a student's first flight solo where Dave brings in a tie, the instructor cuts it, and they both keep half of it. I don't get it either, but it is a milestone tradition in Naval Aviation.
This is the type of plane Dave's been flying all year. T34 Turbo Prop plane--two seater front to back--an orange and white war machine!
